This new release is a lively, full-bodied expression of Napa Valley Cabernet with rare vitality and structural balance. Comprised of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, this rich blend features a bouquet driven by fruity aromas of blackberry liqueur and hoisin sauce, balanced with the savory components of sage and molasses. These complex aromatics are buttressed by sandalwood, vanilla and nutmeg characteristics developed over 24 months of American oak barrel aging.
"Some years winemakers earn their keep by taking an active role. Other years we earn our keep by knowing when to just stay out of Mother Nature's way. The key is knowing the difference," says Nate Weis, Director of Winemaking for Silver Oak and Twomey, when discussing the highly acclaimed 2012 vintage.
